About Me
About
After completing degrees in earth sciences and education, my interests and hobbies dovetailed when I secured a job at the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service which had come into being in 1967.
It was the start of a rewarding career as a science communicator with the natural and cultural heritage projects that came my way a natural fit for my qualifications, love of the great outdoors, photographic and illustration skills, and last but not least, the written word.
Striving to making sense of complex subject matter was at the heart of my work as an interpretation officer and central to this objective was identifying the importance of a site and how best to showcase its value to visitors.
Over the years I was fortunate enough to work for nature-based federal, state and local government agencies sectors in New South Wales (NSW), ACT, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory as well as for the private sector.
